Due to circumstances beyond my control, Midnight Room Rental’s lease at 1517 Central Ave ends at the end of January. While I looked into the possibility of moving/rebuilding in a different location, after much soul-searching and number-crunching, I have made the hard decision to close Midnight Room Rentals - at least for the moment.

When I took over the Midnight space in the last quarter of 2020 it was with the goal of creating a genuinely accessible and equitable space for folks to rehearse, record, teach, and gather. There were - and still are - many barriers to current studio spaces not only in price but in availability and overall accessibility.

Midnight is proud to have been able to fill this community need for nearly two and a half years and as I close these doors I call to other local spaces to revisit their fee structures & payment options, room and parking set-ups, possible restroom upgrades, and general business practices to ensure accessible gathering and rehearing spaces for all. If you are curious about what this could look like for your space, I am open to working with you myself and/or offering referrals to other local community members that would better fit the questions you have.

So, what’s next? 

Rentals will continue through the last week of January - with the final days being committed to load-out and cleaning. Herein come the logistics and asks of you.

While there are several items I plan to keep and tasks I must complete on my own, I am leaning in to ask for assistance for this quick physical move-out process. 

​

• Yoga Mats

• Aerial Mats & Rigging Equipment

• Poles + Pole Mounts

• Heavy Duty Theater Curtains (16 ft)

• Curtains (10 ft)

• Curtains (10 ft) + Track

• Z-Racks

• Cleaning Supplies

• and more…
